I think we all know that I love my OKC Thunder and I can NOT wait to be home for Christmas and go to a game! Thunder Up! I think you also know that I love each of these players, Okc is so lucky to have such wonderful guys! Kevin Durant is the face of our team and there could not be a better role model for ......anyone to have. KD is a man of God and he is not shy about that........ a few years back everyone always wanted to know what was in his backpack at the games.....it was a big "thing"! What was in it...... his Bible.
I have talked about Life Church many times here on the blog and I am also very much looking forward to going to the Christmas Eve service when we are home. Last week Pastor Craig did a message on Spiritual Growth and this message was thru Kevin Durant's testimony. I enjoyed every moment of this message and you could just see the person KD is inside shine thru him as he spoke. If you have 33 minutes you will not regret watching the message. And this would be great for your children to watch and see what a positive role model really looks like. You can watch the message below or visit the Life Church site by clicking HERE!
Just call me Mrs. Grinch this year..........and I am ok with that. I will say that the Casa Savage does have Christmas lights on outside because I have a good hubby who insisted.....but inside.....nadda! This year I do not see the pay off of all the work to decorate when Matt is gone every week, I am at work and we won't even be home for Christmas. What is the point? I mean my dogs would enjoy it but that is all. In fact, I still have my pumpkins up inside because I am too lazy to put them up.
Also, this year we are not doing Christmas cards......whats the purpose? Does all our friends and family REALLY need another card (this would be year 6) of just Matt and I smiling? The answer is NO! Here is what it would say ..."Hi, us again.......Merry Christmas.......our past year was blah......how was yours"?
I know right? Are you shocked by my "Grinchness"??
I will say that I am counting on our traditional Christmas Eve service with Matt's family in Oklahoma at Life Church to kick me out of this "mood"! But until then.......your stuck with me.
Friday night Matt, his sister Jenn and I went to see a movie and to be honest it was kinda slim-pickin's. Well, that is if you see everything like Matt and I do! So we decided on Delivery Man with Vince Vaughn and we were so surprised by this movie! Surprised in a good way......this movie is so cute! This is not a dirty stupid comedy but rather a funny movie with some serious heart. I loved this movie and I know we will for sure rent this when it comes out on DVD! Here is the trailer.......
AS you know I completely stay away from Political posts or heated debates...... I have no need to push my thoughts on you nor do I need to hear from everyone who agrees or disagrees with me! NOW......with that being said, this video sums up my feelings on a current "political debate" in Oklahoma.
I have a lot to say on this but I will let Steven Colbert say it for me......
Well, how did I spend my Thanksgiving?? How did I spend my time while Matt's sister was here visiting???? Being SICK! I think I have a sinus infection and then the over the counter meds I took made me so sick to my stomach! So I spent all day Thanksgiving making us 3 Thanksgiving dinner and when it was ready all I was able to eat was maybe 3 bites. It completely blew........I was such a dud. Thankfully it is only Saturday and I have 48 hours to pull it together before the work week!
Being sick to start off the Holiday season is really adding to my whole "Bahumbug" attitude I have this year. Maybe today I will watch "The Holiday" or "The Family Stone" favorite movies of mine and try to get into the spirit!
Happy Thanksgiving my friends!!! I hope that everyone is with loved ones today and enjoying great food of course! I am thankful for each and everyone of you all who stop by this blog I have....a blog filled with everything under the sun!
I am thankful for my Husband who lets me sing silly made up songs around the house to our animals....and loves me still.
I am thankful for my family who will listen to anything......we can laugh over the phone, cry, vent or just say nothing. We know we are always there for one another.
I am thankful for my In-Laws who somehow know when I need a pick-me-up and will send a text or care package my way. I am very lucky.
I am thankful for my closest friends back home who are honest, loyal, amazing and full of patience.
I am thankful for my animals.......sometimes I look at them and think I could not love anything more.
I could go on and on.....but know I am thankful for YOU!
My first date with Matt was Christmas Day 2005 followed by a Halloween engagement and then a "Fall In Love" Wedding October 27, 2007. I live in Oklahoma City, I am a Landman and have 4 animals who I adore. AND NOW the Savage's are on the move......Columbus, Ohio...here we come! I hope you enjoy my blog!!
